Agenda

• Two-Day Training
• General conversation about nonviolence at Occupy Phoenix, needs, goals, etc.
• Definition of Nonviolence

Looking for a location to host Two-Day Kingian Nonviolence workshop, preferably for January 14-15.  Potentials include:

• Church of Hope
• One Voice (Tips will contact them)
• City Council
• PBS 8
• ASU
• Other Churches, etc.

Future Trainings at Occupy Phoenix:

• Nonviolent Communication (NVC), Nick will call contact
• More Kingian Nonviolence workshops, will focus on specific topics and situations that have occurred: Nick will follow up with Carly and Ernesto
• New names for the trainings: “Skillful Communication Tactics” and “Peace Warrior Training”

Definition of Nonviolence:

• Will continue dialogue online
• May want to reach out to other online groups for input
• Draft first statement: “Nonviolence is a creative force for resolving conflicts and bringing about social change that utilizes the power of love and respect.”

Other topics:

• Start a Facebook group
• Conversation on how to deal with violence online; perhaps outreach for Skillful Communication and Peace Warrior Trainings could be done online in FB threads
• Setting next meeting time, Tuesday at 6:30pm proposed.
