Finance:
This Work Group works closely with all other Occupy Phoenix groups to manage our donations and distribute funds as needed.
Media:
This Work Group coordinates Press Releases, OccupyPhx.org, our Live Feed, and all Social Media for OPHX.
Outreach:
This Work Group finds ways of getting information about Occupy Phoenix out to the community.
Events:
This Work Group works with all of our other Work Groups to organize Events to gain support for Occupy Phoenix. See our Events Calendar to see what we’ve got in store!

I am 19 years and I would like to get involved in activism, however I will be moving to Scottsdale from New York. Do you know of any groups that can help me get started in activism in Arizona ( in general)

Bryan, several local groups exist depending on your preferences, most meet in downtown Phoenix a few miles from main Scottsdale.
The calendar on this website lists Occupy events and a number of local groups under the community events section – Puente/Somos immigration focused, PDA and DFA more election focused, ACI cooperative building, End the War Coalition a number of other groups as well. We can email you a list of events if that works better (send Firstfridayman@hotmail.com a request)

i am a poet, rapper, and song writer looking to channel my skills and talents for this movement. music art and poetry has always been a public attraction for thousands of years in all walks of life so why not utilize that resource and milk it for its worth…i support larry hall on his purposal of an entertainment group….rappers musicians singers artists dancers poets etc of #occupyphoenix this is your chance to skillfully promote and educate the masses through your talents!!!!!!!

Hi, Arthur– that’s great! As far as I know there isn’t an Occupy group specific to No. Phx, but that doesn’t mean you can’t start one. A lot of people are organizing for May Day. Maybe that’s a goal for you and your neighbors to take up?

Can we get this list updated, as we have far more then these groups. Also add the email addresses/ groups or pages where people can get in contact and engaged in the working groups?

I propose that the Outreach committee be tasked with building ongoing working relationships and efforts in direct collaboration with various community, business organizations, and other representative organizations designed specifically to change and improve the economic dynamics at the root of our problems, i.e., megacorporate control over our Country and our government and to help affect achievement of social and economic equality and justice.
I also propose that specific committees be created and tasked with working on strategies to achieve specific goals of OWS; of changing the conditions that have lead to Wall street skirting the rule of law, of getting money corruption out of our political and democratic functions and returning our representatives to representing Americans and not monopoly corporations over the interests of the 99% of American citizens, of getting our representatives to represent citizens interests over their own person wealth building at significant cost to social and economic equality and justice for all?

Something to think about… an entertainment group. A group that might have connections with local (or national) acoustic music groups, Rap, comedians, jugglers, mimes, or whatever. There must be some entertainers that support our movement and might be willing to donate their time and skills. It would not only help keep morale up, but might also encourage attendance. We could make sure through our website and Facebook pages that they are properly promoted.
